finale

The semester has come to an end and I am happy with the results I created for al dente! Through the labels, letterhead, envelopes and posters I believe everything has come full circle and I have designed a cohesive system.

Here is the process of my poster, I wanted to incorporate the different flavors of the pasta into the background.

Here are some versions of my label, it's great to see where I started out to what I have now.

labels

Below are the updates to my labels:
This time I have updated the colors to match the colors that can be seen of the pasta. I have also been working with the composition of the label and trying to find a cohesive placement of the flavor of the pasta with the graphic. I also added a background wash to all the labels which enhances to all the labels. Next, I’m looking to add more of a distinct border and playing with different colors to represent the different types of pasta: fettuccine, linguine and pappardelle.

From the design of the label and the vertical lines, I’m experimenting to adding the vertical lines as part of the logo that would be added to the stationery designs.

updates

Below are the updates to phase two: letterhead, labels & t-shirts: For the stationery I wanted to emphasize the logo and not use the squares, however I am still thinking about using the squares for the business card and the mailing envelope.

phase two: stationery

Here are my versions of the letterhead, business card and envelopes. At first I decided to create versions for two different logos that I made: an orange and gray version. Now I have made the decision to continue with the orange logo and will focus on that from now on. I wanted to tie in the checkerboard squares into these designs as a deconstruction of the squares. Using the squares can be reminiscent of technology and familiar to the Windows Office logo. As of now I took that away but still thinking about
what I could do to add to the design. Here is my process!

phase two

Here's the time to apply our logos to a different mediums: labels, letterhead, business card, envelopes, t-shirts, recipe cards, aprons, posters and more!

The first thing I wanted to tackle was the labels since I will be making variations for the multiple flavors. I have been drawn to the quality of the vertical lines. I was going different line weights for the different types of pasta al dente offers but that could be confusing and misleading. One thought of mine was that would people recognize the lines as pasta.

OCTOBER xxTH:
I continued working on the label designs and coming up with more versions. Next week I am looking forward to our visit at QLTD.
